Thani Illam is a grihasthali project under Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala operational since 1999. Grihasthali project is for the conservation of old buildings in its original location.

Thani Illam offers you an experience of staying with Hindu Brahmin (in Kerala malayali Brahmins are called namboothiri) family and their Kerala Vegetarian food. Here, the rooms are non-smoking and alcohol of any kind is not allowed.

Thani Illam received the Most Innovative Project Award from Government of Kerala in 2002.
